I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado and am a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Colorado. In addition to owning Capitol Peak Counseling I am a partner in F.A.C.T., Families Adjusting to Change and Transition.

I have 10 years experience providing counseling and parenting services to children and families in a variety of settings. I've worked in schools, youth corrections, residential facilities, health and human services, and private practice.

Choosing a therapist is a difficult decision. I believe that the success of treatment relies heavily on the client/therapist relationship. I welcome potential clients calling me with questions in an effort to determine if I might be the right fit for them or their family.

About
Lisa

Welcome and congratulations! You have just taken a forward step towards change! Here is a snapshot of my professional background. I earned my Master's degree in counseling from Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Colorado.

I have over a decade of experience providing therapeutic interventions and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families of varied economic and cultural backgrounds. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, life transitions, self worth issues, issues related to trauma, processing grief, feeling "stuck", relationship changes (including the stages of separation and divorce), trust issues, conflict resolution, coping skills, issues related to control, and decision making skills. My private practice is client centered. Your agenda is my agenda. Research tells us that the therapeutic relationship is key to the success of treatment. This is important to consider when choosing a therapist for your child or teen. Giving them some degree of choice and ownership may set the stage for a better outcome.
